A couple died after their car plunged into a dam in Kiambu

Kiambu County witnessed the unfortunate accident of the couple on January 18, 2023, after their vehicle fell into the water at Juja. Presently, divers from the firefighting department are on a retrieval mission to find the car. 
The lady was taken out of the water, dead. However, the rescuers are still trying to find the male's body. There is no clarity on the exact cause of this accident.
Officials have informed the vehicle is presently located deep in the water. Primarily, they are trying to remove the bodies so the investigation can proceed. The lady must have tried to swim out of the car but was unsuccessful.
Locals informed the media that the two occupants looked to be resting in their vehicle before it crashed into the dam. After this horrific incident, people want the county government to get
involved in the dam management task. People claim that the area is not well safeguarded as the dams are not fenced.
Last year, in an incident similar to this one, the bodies of two students from the Nairobi Institute of Business Studies were found in the dam. Further investigation revealed that their bodies had physical assault signs and had suffered a head injury.
