Description
A truck knocked down six people, aged between 33 and 74, standing at a wayside tea stall in Rae Bareli district in Uttar Pradesh, India. The accident occurred on Wednesday morning amidst a dark haze. The accident occurred on the Banda-Bahraich Highway. Even four more people got injured in it.
As stated by the police, the truck knocked down the residents amassed at the tea stall and tumbled into a trench. Those six people killed in this incident were Shivmohan (33), Ravindra (37), Santosh (39), Vrindavan (43), Lallu (54), and Lalai (74). A search operation was in progress to see if more people were stuck under the truck, as feared by the locals.
The accident happened near Khagiyakheda village under Gurbaksh Ganj police station in Rae Bareli district around 6 am. The truck was running towards Lalganj from Bachhrawan. At the time of the accident, there was dense fog in the area. The authorities and the locals started a rescue operation after the accident. The District Magistrate Mala Srivastava visited this spot along with the Superintendent of Police, Mr. Alok Priyadarshi.
