Final-year students clash at Fumbisi SHS, leading to injuries

The fight between students of the final year of the Fumbisi Senior High School (SHS) in the Builsa South District in Ghana last Wednesday night caused several students to get hurt.
 The incident began when a house prefect questioned three final-year students for beating a first-year student from another region. The three students attacked the house prefect, who is of the same lineage as the first-year student, and subjected him to beatings. The episode swiftly went viral in the school. It infuriated the final-year students who hailed from the ethnic lineage of the house prefect and the first-year student. The school authorities sent the three students to the police station for their safety after intelligence hinted that the other ethnic lineage could cause harm to them. 
The school’s Disciplinary Committee conducted a meeting on this matter and decided to suspend the three students. The whole proceeding was time-consuming. They were asked not to leave the school.
When the final-year students understood that the three students were still in the school, they went on a rampage around 10 p.m. They attacked one another till Thursday morning. 
 In the course, numerous students got injured, while two others suffered broken legs. 
The Builsa South District Assembly conducted an emergency District Security Committee (DISEC) meeting to decide on this matter. They asked all male final-year students to leave the school temporarily.
