Second Murder Reported in Tobago as Police Make Arrest in Easter Sunday Killing
Description
The police have arrested a person in connection with the Easter Sunday murder of a man from Moruga in Scarborough, Tobago. The suspect, a resident of Scarborough, was apprehended by police at 5:15 pm. They took him to the Roxborough police station for questioning. The victim's name was Alex Anthony Cooper. He got shot earlier that day. It is the second murder victim on the island this year. Residents of Logwood Park reported hearing gunfire in the area around 6:30 am and later discovered Cooper's body in a drain. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead by a district medical officer. Crime scene investigators processed the scene, and the body was taken to the mortuary at the Scarborough General Hospital for autopsy. Cooper had relocated to Tobago some time ago and had recently moved to a new district. The Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Tobago Division, is currently conducting an inquiry into the murder. This incident marks Tobago's second murder of the year, following the shooting death of Nigel Sandy in February. Sandy, a Plymouth resident, was shot near his home and later died at the Scarborough General Hospital. The investigation into his death is ongoing.
