Tube drivers and station staff launch a 24-hour strike, causing chaos in London

Tube drivers and station staff began a 24-hour March 15, 2023, strike in London. It caused chaos in transportation for the commuters. 
The Transport for London (TfL) urged the passengers to check their route before traveling, as virtually all of the Underground network was closed and other services were much busier, leading to disruptions and delays. Certain areas of the city were likely to experience high traffic, causing delays for buses on the roads.
TfL cautioned that disruptions from the 24-hour strike could spill over into sections of the Elizabeth line and London Overground, where stations have tube stops. On budget day, the tube in London faced its seventh strike in slightly over a year as unions expressed their opposition to government-led policies that could negatively impact staff pensions and lead to job reductions.
The ASLEF and RMT unions declared a 24-hour strike in their ongoing disagreement over pensions and proposed modifications to staffing on the Underground network. While Transport for London (TfL) has stated that there are no intended reductions to pensions, it has initiated a review of the pension scheme as part of a funding agreement reached with the central government following the financial turmoil caused by the pandemic in London.

The disruption caused by the tube strike will persist into Thursday morning. In addition, a national rail strike led by the RMT at significant operators will affect other train services into London, including the outer areas of the Elizabeth line.
