A Form-Two student got killed after winning Sh200,000 in a lottery.
Description
A case got lodged in the Police Station about a gruesome murder of a form two student after winning an Sh2000,000 lottery in Kitui, Kenya.
The cops found the dead body of this young boy a few km from Maliku. The guy was just seventeen years of age.
The Syengo Nyamai from Mavindini Daty Mixed Secondary School lodged a missing report for this guy as he was missing from the school. The student was said to have owned a lumpsum amount at the 2023 Carabao Cup final match-fixing. The match was between Manchester United and Newcastle United on February 26th at Wembley stadium in London, UK. And the guy was missing from school the next day.
Based on the said victim's brother, Mr. Munyithya Nyamai, Syengo used the national identity card of his neighbor to register a sim card to enroll in the lottery. However, Syengo never
mentioned to his family that he had won Sh2000,000. Syengo has asked his mother to move him to a boarding school, for which he promised to help pay the school fees. He also mentioned traveling to Likoni to see some of his friends. The concerned authority is doing a detailed investigation of the case. The police managed to obtain custodial orders from the court and were about to question two suspects.
My Thoughts
This incident reminds me of an incident that happened with my neighbor. My neighbor last saw his tenant a few weeks back; he called the tenant several times with no answer.
After three days, my neighbor filed a complaint using the POTP application. The police acted quite fast, and the body of the tenant was found dead by the side of the lake far from the city. Investigations are still in process. I am not saying that the cops will not work if someone goes to them seeking help; however, this mobile application has unique features to enlist missing people, criminals, lost items, etc.
In simple words, it can create a general awareness within our society.
