Goole Residential House Burns Followed by A Severe Gas Explosion

A severe gas explosion in a house in Goole, East Yorkshire, caused the residents to evacuate their homes. It caused terror among the residents after the explosion caused fire all over the property from the blast during the early hours of 22nd January 2023. This disastrous incident left behind a big hole in the terraced property, and even bricks tumbled down from the roof over the parked vehicles in the street. One of the residents reported that the gas explosion occurred around 1 am, causing pieces of the house to fall over the road, power lines, TV cables, etc. Emergency sirens made the residents wake up. And they found the fire flames rising from the roof of this affected house. Humberside Police arrived at the location around 1:10 am and evacuated the area between 1 am and 9 am. Officers also informed that they closed the road from both directions and would continue investigating further. They cordoned off the entire area so the emergency services could work safely. Luckily, there were no injury reports as the household escaped miraculously. They sheltered in a local church. The cause of the gas explosion is yet to be known, as investigations are still ongoing. Till now, the police have taken a man into custody as he was the prime suspect in committing arson. The entire incident is very alarming. We should take enough measures to keep ourselves safe.
