Pet owner detained for allegedly throwing puppies off the 10th-floor balcony in Greater Noida
Description
The police have detained a man in Greater Noida after allegedly throwing three puppies from the 10th floor of a high-rise apartment building.
The incident occurred last Wednesday morning and was reported to the police by the apartment owner's association. The three puppies were less than a month old and died upon impact. The suspect, identified as Shekhar, is the owner of a pet dog who recently gave birth to six puppies. Three puppies were missing and later found dead on the ground floor. Investigations led to the suspicion that the puppies had been thrown from the upper floors of the building, as the tin shed on the ground floor had a dent. Upon questioning, the suspect claimed that the puppies fell from his balcony. However, police found that his balcony was secured with a legion net, making it unlikely for the puppies to fall off like that. The animal rights activists were present at the scene. They expressed their sadness at the incident and urged the pet owners of this society to take care of their animals. The police have not yet registered an FIR, but investigations are ongoing.
Ram Badan Singh, DCP Central Noida, stated that after the conclusive report is available from the postmortem report, they will take necessary action.
The incident highlights the importance of responsible pet ownership and the need to prevent cruelty towards animals. Pet owners must take proper care of their animals and seek help from shelters and animal rescue organizations if they can't do so.
The swift action taken by the Apartment Owners' Association and the police, in this case, is commendable. We hope that the guilty get punished.
