Pune Police arrest Pakistani man for illegally residing in the city for 8 years
Description
Last Wednesday, the Pune Police arrested a 22-year-old Pakistani man, Mohammad Aman Ansari. The person was illegally residing in Pune for the past eight years. Ansari was staying in the Khadak area of Old Pune. The police have determined that he had been staying illegally in Bhavani Peth near Chudaman Talim since 2015. During the investigation, they found that Ansari had used a fake passport to travel to Dubai. Ansari has been charged under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 420, which pertains to cheating and dishonestly inducing property delivery, 468 for forgery to cheat, and 471 for dishonestly using any document as genuine. In addition, the cops have also charged him under the Foreigners Act of 1946 and the Passport Act of 1967. The arrest of Ansari is a reminder that the police are vigilant about monitoring the movements of individuals who have overstayed their visas or entered the country illegally. It is also a warning to them to live illegally in India. They will face legal consequences if caught. My Thoughts I understand that being a citizen of this country, it would be my job to let the Local Authority know if I meet any illegal immigrants around me. With community-based apps such as POTP, I can create a general awareness about this crime. Also, there is an option for Live Tracking via GPS. I can use this feature and let the admin locate that illegal immigrant and hand over that information to the local police for further investigation and control.
