Woman Techy Allegedly Drugged and Raped in Gurugram
Description
According to police, a guy reportedly drugged and sexually assaulted a 27-year-old IT worker while in a vehicle parked in the Sahara mall's basement. The victim of rape said in a report filed at the Sector 51 women's police station that she had been looking for work online when she contacted Tushar Sharma, who offered to provide her employment.
He called her last Saturday under the guise of an interview at Sahara Mall. At about 1 pm, she arrived at the mall with her paperwork. She met with Mr. Sharma. He drove her to the parking area of the mall in his car.
Then the accused offered her some water. She consumed it and passed out, according to the survivor. She described how Sharma pulled her into his car and sexually assaulted her. Before leaving her behind in the mall's parking lot, he even threatened to kill her if she notified anybody about the incident.
The woman was escorted to the hospital by the police for a medical evaluation after they received the complaint. Under sections 328 (causing bodily injury by poison), 376 (rape), and 506 (criminal intimidation), an FIR was filed against Tushar Sharma. Authorities are attempting to identify the suspect and have requested CCTV video from the mall management.
My Thoughts
A similar incident occurred in front of me while visiting a Delhi mall. I was about to leave in my car when I noticed a man harassing a teenage girl in the parking lot. When I raised my voice, he tried to threaten us. That's when the POTP app came to my rescue. The monitoring agents took care of the situation in less than 4 minutes.
